It's all about well-qualified specialists: DEKRA expands its cooperation with BTU

On September 10, 2024, Prof. Peer Schmidt, Vice-President for Academic Affairs at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, and Dr.-Ing. Dirk Lorreng, responsible for university cooperation at DEKRA Automobil GmbH, signed a cooperation agreement on the co-op program, which focuses on recruiting and qualifying young talent.

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg and DEKRA Automobil GmbH (Cottbus branch) can already look back on many years of cooperation. Initially, it was students on the applied study programme in Mechanical Engineering whose qualifications in the test engineer specialization were ideally suited to DEKRA's areas of responsibility. With the introduction and establishment of the dual Bachelor's degree program B.Sc. Mechanical Engineering, the DEKRA Cottbus branch became a cooperation partner for three dual students as early as 2021. After graduating, these graduates have long since become employees of the company. The fact that students who are training at other DEKRA branches in Brandenburg in Frankfurt (Oder), Oranienburg and Wildau have already decided to study at BTU shows that the degree program is ideally suited to training test engineers.

Highly qualified graduates and the high level of satisfaction of students and their trainers with the concept of the dual study program at the BTU has now led DEKRA Automobil GmbH to conclude a cooperation agreement with the BTU for its branches in the fields of Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Medical Technology, Industrial Engineering, Civil Engineering and Business Administration and Engineering.
