Experience innovation spaces

Together with colleagues from the City of Cottbus and Cottbus Economic Development Agency, we had the pleasure of visiting Science City Hamburg Bahrenfeld on 2 April 2025 - an impressive example of how cutting-edge research, teaching and urban development can go hand in hand.

Our visit focused on the West Campus around the German Electron Synchrotron DESY research centre. Not only is an internationally important science location being created here, but also a sustainable residential neighbourhood and a future-oriented innovation park.

Our visit to Hamburg Invest Entwicklungsgesellschaft was just as exciting. There, we were able to learn more about the development of Hamburg's four innovation parks and their underlying innovation ecosystems.
