Call for Applications: Decarbonisation Summer School 2025 in Cottbus

We would like to draw your attention to an exciting event format: the Decarbonisation Summer School 2025 - Shaping the Future of Industry. This innovative event, organised by the Lausitz Science Network (LSN) and the Cluster Decarbonisation in Industry (CDI), will take place in Cottbus from 09.09. to 11.09.2025.

For three intensive days, 15 young scientists will have the unique opportunity to work in interdisciplinary teams on practical issues and develop innovative ideas for the decarbonisation of energy-intensive industries as part of a design sprint. The participants outline concrete decarbonisation strategies for input providers from the energy-intensive industries based on real challenges from business practice. They work on three questions in three small groups.

In order to develop applied transformation approaches that are suitable for rapid knowledge transfer, the participants receive excellent support: in addition to exchanging ideas with professionals from research and the energy-intensive industries, they have access to science labs and have the opportunity to visit energy-intensive industrial companies on site.

We are looking for creative minds and passionate transformation scouts! Do you know an outstanding young scientist, a brilliant PhD student or a creative generalist from the fields of engineering, environmental sciences, economics or social sciences? The young talents will present the results of their decarbonisation challenges on the 11th of September 2025 as part of three innovation pitches at this year's CDI Summer Summit.
