Successful interim evaluation of the Young Investigator Group “Intuitive XR”

The interim evaluation of the Young Investigator Group “Intuitive XR”​​​​​​, led by Dr. Marius Klug, was completed in December 2025. The evaluation committee provided a highly positive assessment of the group’s achievements thus far. Specifically, the supervision of doctoral research projects, invitations to academic conferences, publications, and the submission of research grant applications were emphasised.

The evaluation committee consisted of the following members: the external reviewers Prof. Dr. Andrea Kübler (University of Würzburg) and Prof. Dr. Moritz Grosse-Wentrup (University of Vienna); the members of the GRS Council Prof. Dr. Günther Tränkle (former Director of the Ferdinand-Braun-Institut, Leibniz-Institut für Höchstfrequenztechnik) and Dr. Birte Seffert (Guidance, Skills & Opportunities for Researchers e.V. (GSO)); as well as Prof. Dr. Christoph Egbers, member of the Commission for Research, Early Career Researchers and Transfer. This composition ensured that both external scientific expertise and internal strategic considerations were incorporated into the evaluation process.

The Young Investigator Group is a dedicated funding tool of the Graduate Research School (GRS). In 2022, Dr. Klug was selected through a competitive process for his concept, “Intuitive XR,” and the group commenced its work in April 2023. Due to the successful interim evaluation, funding for the Young Investigator Group will continue until March 2028, ensuring stability and ongoing support for the group's activities.

With this funding tool, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg aims to support excellent postdoctoral researchers in advancing their academic careers.
