International research delegation from Israel visits
Last week, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) welcomed a delegation from Bar-Ilan University in Israel. The visiting researchers, mainly from the Bar-Ilan Institute for Nanotechnology and Advanced Materials (BINA), came together for an intensive scientific exchange with colleagues from BTU to explore the potential for future cooperation.
Researchers from both universities presented their current projects at a joint meeting. Thematic focuses included Biotechnology, Chemistry, Materials Science and Engineering. On the second day, the visit took the delegation to Campus Senftenberg, where they were given an insight into the laboratory infrastructure of Electrical Engineering and Chemistry as well as ongoing research work on site.
The programme was rounded off with a further exchange at the Fraunhofer Institute for Photonic Microsystems IPMS in Dresden. This highlighted the close links between basic university research, applied science and regional innovation development.
The discussions were inspiring and extremely constructive. Further exchange formats and joint activities are already in preparation. The Lausitz Science Park supports this international dialogue and continues to work towards translating joint research interests into sustainable cooperation projects within Lusatia.
