Exhibition: The colourful world of studying and working

Pictures by long-time university employee Ralf Schuster are being shown in a new exhibition in the media centre of the on-site library at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) Campus Senftenberg. All interested parties are invited to the opening on Wednesday, 18 March 2026 at 5 p.m. Admission is free.

This presentation is part of and now the third highlight in the exhibition series featuring works by creative staff members and students at BTU.

With his colourful drawings created with wax crayons, Ralf Schuster describes everyday life in order to ironically exaggerate it and comment on it in his own way. Ralf Schuster is mainly a photographer and has been working as such at the BTU for 30 years.
Imagination meets reality

The world of work and study has changed: But even with home offices or eLearning, colourful libraries, open spaces and designer furniture, some tasks are a challenge or even an opportunity to fail. Ralf Schuster knows that a realistic depiction of the world works much better with a camera anyway. The drawings offer the opportunity to combine fantasy with reality. Through his work, Ralf Schuster knows the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg from all sides, down to the deepest corners, and has been inspired by it in many ways. In addition to his media work in the Multimedia Centre at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, he is also active as a musician and visual artist in Cottbus and beyond.
