Theranosticum Lausitz is getting ready to launch

The kick-off event will bring together key stakeholders from 27 to 29 April.

Theranostics is regarded as one of the fastest-growing and most promising fields in modern cancer diagnostics and therapy. Its approach: diagnostics and therapy are no longer considered separately, but are specifically integrated – with a clear focus on the well-being of patients. Close collaboration between academia, clinical practice, industry and regulatory bodies is crucial.

A new centre for translational innovation

The Theranosticum Lausitz is establishing a ‘Translational Centre for Theranostic Innovations’ that operates precisely at this interface. In future, it will assume a central mediating role: bringing together stakeholders from different sectors, funding exchange and accelerating the development of innovative solutions for cancer medicine.

The founding partners include the Medical University of Lausitz – Carl Thiem, the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg and the Lausitz Science Park, as well as industrial partners.

Kick-off event brings key players together

An important milestone on this journey is the joint kick-off event for Theranosticum Lausitz:

Date: 27–29 April 2026
Location: Cottbus & Dresden

The event will bring together leading experts from research, industry, clinical practice and regulatory bodies. The aim is to intensify professional exchange, identify synergies and lay the foundations for long-term collaboration.

Vision: An internationally networked innovation hub

In the long term, Theranosticum Lausitz aims to establish an internationally visible and networked innovation hub for theranostic developments. The focus is always on the goal of sustainably improving patient care – through more effective therapies, more efficient processes and better access to medical innovations.
