International Science Park delegation visits the Lausitz Science Park

International impetus for Lusatia: In the run-up to the 2nd Potsdam International Forum, the Lausitz Science Park welcomed a high-level delegation of European science parks to Cottbus. The focus was on discussions regarding innovation ecosystems, insights into cutting-edge research, and a shared vision of strong international cooperation.

On 14 and 15 April 2026, the Lausitz Science Park welcomed a high-level international delegation from the IASP (International Association of Science Parks and Areas of Innovation) network to Cottbus. In the run-up to the 2nd International Forum “Science Parks and Competitiveness” at the Potsdam Science Park, the two-day event was dedicated to international exchange, regional transformation and shared visions for the future.

Guests included Ebba Lund, CEO of IASP, Justyna Adamska, CEO of Poznański Park Naukowo-Technologiczny, Bernhard Lamprecht, CEO, and Pamela Kogelnik-Mühlmann, Team Leader Innovation Projects & Cooperations, both from Lakeside Science & Technology Park, and Agnieszka Wodecka, Analyst and Consultant at Park Technologiczny Interior. Together with representatives from the Lausitz Science Park, they explored the dynamic development of the booming city of Cottbus and key projects relating to regional structural change.

A particular focus was placed on the exchange at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. There, Prof. Michael Hübner provided insights into the development phases of the Lausitz Science Park. Further perspectives on regional transformation were shared by representatives of the Ministry of Science, Research and Culture, Joscha Dapper and Falk-Florian Hoene.

Cutting-edge research and start-up ecosystem

Scientific excellence characterised the rest of the programme: guided tours of the Optical Lab at the Department of Experimental Physics and Functional Materials and of the cleanroom at the iCampus brought cutting-edge research at the site to life. Further stops included the Science Gallery at the IKMZ, the core area of the future Lausitz Science Park, and the research hall at chesco.

The focus at the end was on the regional start-up ecosystem. At Startblock B2, the team presented the dynamism of the Lusatian start-up hub and introduced initiatives such as the Cottbus Energy Innovation Centre, Startup Lausitz and the Startup Lausitz Accelerator. It became clear how much the region benefits from cooperation, innovative strength and international networking.

“Personal exchanges with international partners from leading science parks are of great importance for the further development of the Lausitz Science Park,” was the conclusion of the visit. New connections, inspiring discussions and a shared vision of closer international cooperation form a valuable foundation for the next steps.

The Lausitz Science Park would like to extend its warmest thanks to all guests for their visit and looks forward to continuing the dialogue.
