Delivery of the brand new stable isotope facility: Envirovision, iso FLOW GHG Analyzer, VARIO isotope select to Chair of Soil and Plant Systems

A new era with stable isotope research at BTU begins.

‘We will determine nitrogen (N) cycle pathways in soils and lakes by 15N-NO3- pool dilution methodology and trace plant uptake of N-forms, as well as assessing N2 fixation input in various ecosystems’. It is a great pleasure to see the arrival of this highly specialized equipment for measuring the stable isotopes of carbon (13C/12C) and nitrogen (15N/14N) in solid samples and extracts by conversion to 15N-N2O. The facility will through the next month be installed and tested and we expect to be able to run the first environmental samples in September.
