Project Funding Equal Opportunities and Publication Cost Grants
Project funding for equal opportunities ("GENial")
Funding is provided for smaller, innovative projects aimed at reducing gender-based and classist discrimination in studying, teaching and research. These can be:
- Events to raise awareness on topics related to equal opportunities (e.g., lecture series for students as future leaders).
- making female role models in science visible (e.g. through events, exhibitions, brochures)
- special activities to attract female students in subjects where they are underrepresented (e.g. through videos, films, podcasts)
- additional measures to attract female professors (e.g. active recruitment)
- individual career and personnel development of young female scientists (e.g. through mentoring and coaching)
- Assignment of final theses and seminar papers with gender equality relevance, scientific publications on gender topics
- Projects for the implementation of gender mainstreaming** in studies, teaching and research
- Projects to reconcile study, career and family responsibilities

Grants for printing and publication costs
BTU female scientists* from the master's phase onwards have the opportunity to apply for a grant of up to € 1,500 per year for scientific publications or € 300 per year for the printing costs of scientific (final) theses. This measure supports the faster access of female scientists* in qualification phases to the scientific community and opens up opportunities for public awareness as well as scientific cooperation and networking.
