The current conflict in Bangladesh

BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is shocked by the recent events in Bangladesh. Discussions with BTU students from the region have left us deeply saddened. We are shocked by the reported extent of the violence.

We stand firmly by the side of our students, who are worried about their families and friends on site and in some cases have had little contact with them for days. This is particularly stressful for young people at the end of the semester, during the exam period.

It is our aim to offer all our students a safe and supportive environment in which they can achieve their academic and personal goals. BTU stands for respect, tolerance and peaceful discourse in our dealings with one another. We therefore call for an immediate end to all violence in the current conflict in Bangladesh.

More than 200 students from Bangladesh are studying at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. After the group from India and Pakistan, they form the third largest community of international students at the university.
