Around 65 researchers from 29 countries at network conference in Cottbus

Alexander von Humboldt Foundation scholarship holders will find out about research at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg from 25 to 27 February. The aim of the meeting is to network with each other, get to know the BTU and promote scientific exchange.

On the occasion of the Alexander von Humboldt Foundation's network conference, 66 young researchers from 29 countries will be guests at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) from 25 to 27 February 2025. The researchers are currently being funded by the Humboldt Foundation and are working with colleagues at universities throughout Germany. The aim of the event is to familiarise the researchers with each other and with Cottbus. They will also receive tips on researching and living in Germany in dialogue with Foundation staff members.

The guests will learn about eight BTU research institutes on the topics of decarbonisation of industry, construction and architecture, mathematical optimisation, materials research, stem cell biology of ageing, biodiversity research and aerodynamics. Scientists from the university will present the work of the institutes and give short talks in specialised groups. The international participants socialise with each other and with their German colleagues.

The majority of participants come from the natural and life sciences, followed by scientists from the humanities, social sciences and engineering.
