The right-wing populist battle of culture with the “principle of neutrality”

For a time already, the term “principle of neutrality” is shifting more and more in the focus of the public discourse. Right-wing populists use it as a strategy to oppose projects and private stakeholders in Berlin and nationwide. Critics just like anti-fascists and anti-racists are supposed to be unsettled and silenced. The main objective is to gain the power to define terms like democracy, neutrality or freedom of expression. But how do right-wing (institutional) players try to exploit these terms? Which connections can be drawn between human rights, democratic values, the Beutelsbach consensus and the state programs against right-wing extremism? The event was held to discuss these issues with people from civil society, politics, academia, and administration.
