Brandenburg shows attitude!
More than 7,000 signatories have already joined the appeal, which unites voices against incitement and violence as well as undemocratic activities in the state of Brandenburg. One of the first signatories is BTU President Prof. Gesine Grande.
Prof. Gesine Grande says: "I am one of the first signatories of the initiative because I identify 100 percent with the message: talking to each other, looking for ways together instead of agitating aggressively and against each other. Only together can we overcome this pandemic. "
She also emphasizes, "Universities are places where solutions are developed for the major challenges facing society. Our employees have kept studies and science going even under the difficult pandemic conditions. I am very grateful for that! We all want to return to normal attendance as soon as possible. Therefore, we support all measures necessary against the pandemic and take care of ourselves and our fellow human beings."
A day of action on Saturday, February 19, 2022, offers in many cities nationwide very different Mögichkeiten, in the context of the campaign, to show face. In Cottbus, an event & human chain is planned at 5 p.m. on the town hall forecourt, and in Senftenberg, a gathering is planned at 3 p.m. on the market square.
The campaign "Brandenburg shows attitude!" was launched by the association Neues Potsdamer Toleranzedikt e.V. and is supported by many personalities and institutions. Among others, Cottbuser Aufbruch e.V., with which the BTU is closely associated, and ProWissen Potsdam e.V., of which the university is a member, are also involved. The initiative is aimed at all Brandenburgers. It wants to make clear who the majority in the state is and what basic values they stand for. All those who identify with these values and consider it necessary to stand up to a dangerous intolerant development are cordially invited to sign as well. Because misunderstood tolerance endangers our open society.
