Traveling through Europe's classrooms with the Children's University

What does everyday school life look like in other countries? This question will be the focus of the Children's University on Thursday and Saturday, February 23 and 25, 2023, at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).

In the current Kinderuni lecture, everything revolves around the topic of school in Europe: Is it really true that school is the same in all countries? What is everyday school life really like in France, Italy or Finland? Is it heat-free there? Or even cold-free? And what do children in other European countries actually eat for lunch, what do they put in their lunchboxes? And, of course, how do students spend their free time?

Participants in the Children's University will learn all this and much more during a short journey through European classrooms. They will also learn what the European Union is and what the BTU has to do with it.

The speakers are Christin Handrek from the BTU's International Relations Office team and Janina Biell from the European University Alliance EUNICE, of which the BTU is a member.

Pupils from third to sixth grades are invited to attend the Children's University lecture "A short journey through Europe's classrooms - What does everyday school life look like in other countries?" Background
Children's lectures are intended to arouse interest in solving scientific and other problems at an early age, and to give children the opportunity to experience the flair of a university. The BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg conveys approaches to solving scientific phenomena of everyday life in a child-friendly, exciting way and thus creates formative experiences and experiences that are also intended to reduce the inhibition threshold to a university in particular.
