Culture Campus Sachsendorf - a summer festival for Cottbus
It will be colorful, it will be student, it will be musical! After the opening by the mayor of Cottbus Tobias Schick, it can start: A new summer and cultural festival opens its doors.
Saturday, June 24, 2023, from 12 p.m.
Cottbus-Sachsendorf Campus of the Brandenburg University of Technology (BTU)
Lipezker Straße 47/48
Initiated by students of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and the citizens' association Sachsendorf-Madlow, the cultural campus aims to bring together students and citizens* of different generations, districts, study programmes and origins. The goal is to get into conversation with each other or simply to experience a colorful summer day together. All interested parties are cordially invited! Admission is free of charge.
The program includes movement, encounters, activities for children and young people to minimize the gaps in society that have developed in recent years and to bring people closer again. The campus offers families many attractions - from a bouncy castle and free soccer games to inexpensive food and live music.
At 12 p.m., Cottbus Mayor Tobias Schick and Prof. Simone Schröder, dean of the Faculty of Social Work, Health and Music at BTU, will open the event. A classical concert by the BTU orchestra "Collegium Musicum" together with guest performers from Poland will kick off the festival musically at 3 p.m. with works by Bach and classical interpretations of musical pieces. The civic association organizes different stands for the physical well-being, but also for activities such as face painting for children, snippet hunt and more. The free admission is not only for the benefit of the residents, but also for the students. Various bands, such as "Heiter bis Wolkig", "F.A.K.T", "Scum of Society"will perform and ensure an upbeat, good mood. The organizers are looking forward to a happy party with many guests.
The project "CULTURE CAMPUS SACHSENDORF - summer festival for young, for old, for Cottbus!" is funded by urban development funds from the program "Social Cohesion" from the Foundation Lusatian Lignite, Velero Immobilien GmbH, Gebäudewirtschaft Cottbus, the Youth Fund of the program Partnership for Democracy Cottbus and the City of Cottbus.
