Book project launched – 99 objects that tell the story of Lusatia's future today

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) and its sponsoring association are developing an exciting collection of objects and short texts that together paint a picture of the future of Lusatia. Everyone in Lusatia with a vision is invited to take part!

Lusatia's discourse oscillates between its industrial past and diverse expectations for the future. The term "structural change" wears out because it is emotionally empty and devoid of form. In order to make it vivid, tangible and comprehensible, a collection of objects and texts by and with people from Lusatia will be created in a collaborative process.

Objects can be: technical devices, everyday objects, toys, tools, (intermediate) products, individual parts of larger devices or buildings and much more. It is important that they are tangible and represent a story with a connection to the future.

As a child and actor, sufferer and pioneer of change, BTU maintains and strengthens many networks with people and actors from science, society, art and politics. They contribute to this book and provide an exciting insight into the actual changes in the region with numerous individual perspectives.

Ideas can be submitted via the contact form until January 30, 2024. A jury will select the 99 most promising and creative objects, which will be presented in a photo-artistic way. If necessary, the authors will receive editorial support in writing the text on the (future) history of their object.
