Among the twenty members of the new Advisory Council for Housing, Urban Development and Construction in the 21st legislative period of the German Bundestag is BTU Prof. Dr Ludger Gailing, Chair of Regional Planning. Together with his colleagues from research and practice, the scientist advises the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Building (BMWSB).

On friday, 18 July, and saturday, 19 July 2025, Cottbus residents and international students from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg are invited to rediscover Branitz Park together at a drawing workshop, to draw, to get to know people and perspectives and to exchange ideas.

From 4 to 6 July, the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) invited scholarship holders from all over the world to Berlin to celebrate 100 years of the DAAD together. BTU doctoral student and DAAD scholarship holder Ms Freda Adiali had the unique opportunity to exchange ideas with DAAD President Prof. Dr. Joybrato Mukherjee and Foreign Minister Dr. Johann Wadephul.

Experts from research and practice will talk about increasing efficiency in production processes at the Cross-Cluster Conference on Sustainable Production. Hosted by the Brandenburg Economic Development Corporation (WFBB), the conference will take place on Thursday, 10 July 2025, in the start-up centre on the main campus of BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

The 50th FrauenOrt is dedicated to the history of the Bilillee Machbuba enslaved by Prince Herrmann von Pückler: Together with the Frauenpolitischer Rat Land Brandenburg e.V. and the decolonial museum consultant Patricia Vester, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg will dedicate the plaque commemorating her history on the university's main campus on Wednesday, 9 July 2025.

One of Germany's most renowned climate researchers Prof. Dr Hartmut Graßl will be discussing climate change and our responsibility with anyone interested in the public lecture series at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg on Wednesday, 9 July 2025, 5 to 7 p.m. at the Cottbus main campus.

The interactive travelling exhibition Bakteriopolis can be experienced at BTU and will be presented from 8 to 11 July 2025 at the Cottbus main campus and from 15 to 17 July at the university's Campus Senftenberg.

At the end of the school year, pupils from the Spree-Neisse comprehensive school were given the opportunity to immerse themselves in the world of robotics and artificial intelligence for a day at the DLR_School_Lab at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU).
