Hydrogen Investors Tour 2022
A digital tour of the coalfields presents developments in hydrogen research and the hydrogen industry that are currently taking place in Germany's traditional coal regions. Experts from the Central German coalfield, the Rhenish coalfield and the Lusatian coalfield were invited to answer questions about the projects in their institutions. This online tour is organized by GTAI (Germany Trade & Invest) and supported by Hydrogen Moves GmbH.
At the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, applied research is conducted on the topic of hydrogen. For 10 years, there has been a hydrogen center at the university, where electrolysis for hydrogen production is being researched. In addition to research at the BTU, there is a lively transfer of science to the region. In addition, the university helps to train specialists for the region and prepare them for the future issues of the energy industry. Around 6,800 students are enrolled at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Alternative drive systems are researched at the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (CHESCO). The center's core topics are hybrid-electric and electric systems for aviation, rail, road and off-road applications. During the event, Prof. Dr.-Ing. Georg Möhlenkamp, Department of Power Electronics and Drive Systems, at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg will show how mobility can become more environmentally friendly through alternative drive and energy systems.
