Research Ethics

BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is aware of the tension between research interests and the responsibility of research and its possible effects on society and people. We attach importance to compliance with ethical standards in research, the establishment of appropriate framework conditions, and the sensitization of researchers to this important topic area.

Ethics Committee

The ethics committee of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg deals on the basis of its statutes with questions concerning the possible use of research results for non-peaceful purposes as well as research projects on humans and animals and gives recommendations (ethics votes) to employees and students.

Good scientific practice

The BTU has established standards and organizational requirements for ensuring good practice and preventing scientific misconduct, which it continues to develop.

Research-oriented equality standards

The implementation of gender equality standards in research is part of our university's self-image. Our equal opportunity work is based on the equal opportunity standards of the DFG and the recommendations of bukof and the German Council of Science and Humanities.
