Illness and Incapability

Illness is the most common reason for being unable to take an exam. Force majeure can also be invoked, but is rare. The decisive factor is that the reason is not self-inflicted.

Student ID card - your key to campus life. The student ID card gives you access to numerous BTU services

Health Insurance (Electronic Student Registration Procedure [SMV])

The student notification procedure (SMV) requires electronic transmission of the relevant data between universities and health insurance companies.

Semesterticket

The Germany semester ticket enables us students to use the nationwide public transport system more cheaply thanks to the solidarity model.

Registering for the Following Semester

In order to continue your studies in the next semester, you must re-register within the re-registration period.

Leave of Absence

A semester of leave is possible. Reasons for a leave of absence: semester abroad, internships, maternity leave, etc.

Removal from the Register of Students

Students may be de-registered upon application or ex officio, e.g. after finally failing an examination or failing to re-register.

Change of degree programme

Information on transferring from another university to BTU or within BTU.
