Berlin ExpoCenter Airport, Hall B | Stand 320

BTU and chesco at ILA 2026 in Berlin

The ILA Berlin Air Show is one of the leading international platforms for innovation, new technologies and sustainable developments in the aerospace sector. From 10 to 14 June 2026, under the theme “Pioneering Aerospace”, it will once again become the industry’s central meeting place in the heart of Europe.

ILA 2026 will focus on forward-looking topics such as sustainable aviation, ‘Defence & Security’ and space technologies. In particular, key developments such as climate-neutral flying, drone technologies, artificial intelligence and the Future Combat Air System (FCAS) will take centre stage – as will the strengthening of Europe’s technological sovereignty.
Key priorities in the field of aviation (civil aviation):

  • Climate-neutral flying through hydrogen and electric propulsion
  • Sustainable aviation fuels (SAF) and low-emission engines
  • Innovations such as digital technologies, additive manufacturing (3D printing) and new materials

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg will also be represented, together with the Centre for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus. At the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg Capital Region, we will be providing insights into current research work on sustainable aviation technologies at the Institute of Transport Technology.

Please do visit us in Hall B, Stand 320. We look forward to discussing these topics with you!

BTU will be at InnoTrans 2026!

InnoTrans is the leading international trade fair for Transport Technology, held every two years in Berlin. Divided into five exhibition segments – Railway Technology, Railway Infrastructure, Public Transport, Interiors and Tunnel Construction – InnoTrans occupies all 42 halls of the Berlin Exhibition Centre. The InnoTrans Convention, the event’s high-calibre supporting programme, complements the trade fair and is streamed live. A unique feature is the InnoTrans track and outdoor area, with 3,500 metres of track, showcasing everything from tank wagons to high-speed trains.

At the Berlin-Brandenburg joint stand, the SpreeTec neXt research consortium and the Production Administration chair will present innovative research on additive manufacturing: from metal- and polymer-based processes and rapid tooling to novel material developments and repair strategies. Laser- and arc-based technologies for hydrogen applications highlight our focus on sustainable energy solutions. In addition, we are presenting AI-based approaches to the planning and management of maintenance orders.

Come and visit us to discover technologies that are already shaping the production of tomorrow.

BTU and EIZ at E-world energy & water 2026 in Essen

To mark its 25th anniversary, E‑world energy & water at Messe Essen was bigger and better than ever before. Over 37,000 trade visitors attended Europe’s leading trade fair for Energy Economics. A total of 1,136 exhibitors showcased their solutions for the energy supply sector. Key topics included the energy transition in conjunction with security of supply, as well as the potential applications of new storage technologies and artificial intelligence. BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg was once again represented with a stand at the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region and presented the Cottbus Energy Innovation Centre (EIZ).

The trade fair appearance significantly raised the profile of the EIZ. The fair was viewed as a design challenge – not only in terms of visibility but also regarding its impact on the ecosystem. Small-scale trials of new ideas were carried out, many new contacts with companies were established, and interesting discussions took place on current developments, innovations and challenges surrounding the energy transition, which are also of benefit to the BTU as a whole. For the first time, partner interviews were conducted live on site.

The EIZSpark start-up team BARQ, which optimises energy in electric vehicle fleets, used the fair to raise its profile and was able to sign its first start-up agreement at the event.

We would like to thank all participants, stand visitors and organisers, and look forward to E-world 2027!

BTU showcased cutting-edge technologies for recycling lithium-ion batteries at Interbattery in Seoul

Once again, BTU successfully showcased its work at InterBattery, the international trade fair dedicated to batteries, in Seoul (South Korea). The Physical Chemistry chair, in collaboration with the ReLioS network, showcased BTU’s expertise in the recycling and recovery of battery materials and raw materials from lithium-ion batteries at the joint stand of the Berlin-Brandenburg capital region. The stand was visited by, amongst others, trade visitors from recycling companies, material producers and processors. Contacts with companies, the regional Chamber of Foreign Trade, TechnoParks and chambers of commerce were expanded. The profile of BTU’s research activities was significantly raised through our presence at the fair. We would like to thank all participants, stand visitors and organisers, and look forward to InterBattery 2027!
