Family Minister Paus learns about democracy education at BTU

On January 22, 2024, Lisa Paus, Federal Minister for Family Affairs, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, was also a guest at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) as part of her Society Day in Cottbus and Spremberg. The talks focused on the promotion of democracy, democracy education and research into migration and hate speech at schools.

The University Pearl of the Year 2023 goes to BTU

The new practice-integrated primary school teaching study programme at Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) has emerged as the winner of the Stifterverband für die Deutsche Wissenschaft's public vote for University Pearl of the Year 2023. It received around 25 percent of the votes.

Better understanding and sustainable use of Lusatian soils

"Discovering Soil" is the name of a new project at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, which relies on the help of the public: By involving many interested people in the research, the aim is to raise environmental awareness and focus on the sensible use of Lusatian soils. To this end, interested citizens and families will become soil research teams.

Lecture and discussion evening on technologies for the new learning

In the public lecture series "Open BTU" on Wednesday, January 17, 2024, at 5:30 p.m., the perspectives offered by the use of virtual reality and drones for new learning will be demonstrated. All interested parties are invited to the Central Lecture Hall Building of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU) on the Cottbus main campus.
