  • What happens if I still cannot enter the country for the winter semester 2021/22 due to a pandemic?

At present, the BTU has not yet decided how the 2021/22 winter semester will be taught (depending on the pandemic). However, the current degree programmes are designed in such a way that the BTU will resume attendance teaching as soon as the general conditions allow. Should students still not be able to enter Germany for the winter semester 2021/22 due to the pandemic, precautions will be taken to enable them to continue their studies under certain conditions. You will be informed of this during the re-registration period (June to July 2021).

  • What can I do if I cannot take an English or German test at the moment?

You can still apply if you do not yet have the required English or German test results, but are registered for a test. You can find details on page 2 of the English language certificate information sheet or on this German language certificate information sheet, respectively.

Please note that in order to register, you must provide proof that you have taken and passed the language test (by 30 October 2021 at the latest). You can submit the actual certificate within the 1st semester.

  • I can´t get my diplomas/final certificates right now – what can I do?

If you do not yet have your diploma documents, you can apply with your current Transcript of Records instead. If you are admitted to the programme, you have the opportunity, due to the current situation, to submit your final degree documents within the first semester (by 31.03.2022 at the latest).

  • What happens if I could not enrol for the winter semester 2020 / summer semester 2021?

If you are still interested in studying at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg, please press the button “relinquish university place” in the BTU applicant portal myBTU. Renew your application for the winter semester 2021/22 by 20 April 2021 directly via the BTU applicant portal myBTU:

    • create a new application form for the current semester via myBTU
    • Upload the last admission letter in the question about the "Bachelor's or Master's entrance qualification”
    • Your application documents are stored at Uni-Assist (where you originally applied) for up to two years! If additional documents need to be submitted, we will inform you about this when you are admitted.

Please note: an extension is only possible under the condition that your course of study is still offered at BTU.

If you have been admitted to a study programme with restricted admission (e.g. Biotechnology, Social Work), you will take part in the allocation procedure again with your application.
