Curriculum Vitae
Prof. Dr. Christian Abendroth is Professor of Circular Economy at the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg. His scientific work focuses on key issues in the circular economy, particularly in the field of anaerobic technology. Prior to his appointment, he was a postdoctoral researcher at the Institute for Waste Management and Recycling at the Technical University of Dresden. He completed his doctorate in biotechnology at the University of Valencia, where he studied biological processes in the context of sustainable material cycles. Parallel to his academic career, he worked for several years as a project manager at the Robert Boyle Institute in Jena, where he developed practical solutions in the field of anaerobic processes. He gained international experience during research stays at Aarhus University in Denmark and through several semesters abroad in Spain and Belarus. His academic career began with a degree in biochemistry and molecular biology at Friedrich Schiller University in Jena, which he completed with a Master of Science.
