Curriculum Vitae
Michael Oevermann studied mechanical engineering in Hanover and completed his doctorate in the field of supersonic hydrogen combustion simulation at DLR Göttingen in 1997. After postdoctoral stays at the Courant Institute of Mathematical Sciences in New York and the Zuse Institute in Berlin, he worked as a development engineer at Rolls-Royce Germany before becoming a research assistant at the Institute for Energy Process Engineering at the Technical University of Berlin. In 2011, he was appointed professor of combustion simulation at Chalmers University in Gothenburg. Since April 2019, Prof. Oevermann has been head of the Department of Numerical Mathematics and Scientific Computing at the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. His research focuses on the development of numerical methods for simulating flow processes, in particular turbulent combustion and multiphase flows with low-dimensional stochastic models.
