STARKe projects in Guben: inspiration and innovation for Lusatia

On 4 November, the "STARKe Projekte" event took place at the Alte Färberei in Guben - an impressive showcase for the diversity and progress of structural change in Lusatia. The format offered exciting insights into projects that show how change is being actively shaped in the region.

Every year, the Lusatia Representative of the Minister President Dr Klaus Freytag and Wirtschaftsregion Lausitz GmbH invite projects funded by the federal STARK programme to get to know the diversity of these STARK projects, enter into dialogue with the project sponsors and gain valuable impetus. This is the fourth time that the event format has offered a permanent platform for dialogue, inspiration and new collaborations between politics, administration, business, science and civil society.

The varied programme ranged from the entertaining Barbara Show with music and artistry to the ceremonial handover of symbolic funding "cheques" to five new projects. The 3-minute pitches, in which initiatives from the fields of culture, tourism, science transfer and other subject areas presented their ideas, were particularly exciting.

The event made it clear how lively and diverse innovation is in Lusatia - driven by committed people and strong collaborations.

Following the pitches, the exhibition invited direct dialogue: Visitors* were able to ask questions, make contacts and be inspired by the projects presented. Other funded initiatives also presented themselves and engaged in dialogue with interested parties.

We were also on site and had many stimulating conversations - and our meme game once again generated enthusiasm and good humour.
The event impressively demonstrated that strong projects are the result of strong cooperation - and that structural change in Lusatia can be achieved together.
