Lausitzforum 2038 - Innovation through strong partnerships

On 5 November 2025, the Lausitzforum 2038 impressively demonstrated how innovation is created in Lusatia: through strong partnerships, shared visions and cooperation between science, business and politics.

At this year's Lausitzforum 2038, which took place on 5 November 2025 in BASF Schwarzheide's Kulturhaus, numerous Lusatian stakeholders from business, science and politics came together. The focus was on the question of how structural change in Lusatia can succeed and what next steps are needed to sustainably strengthen the region.

Under the motto "From hybrid-electric drive systems to sustainable industrial processes", the LSP and its partners presented the entire spectrum of research and innovation that is growing in Lusatia. The LSP joint stand featured the Center for Hybrid Electric Systems Cottbus (chesco), the Energy Innovation Centre Cottbus (EIZ), SpreeTec neXt, the DLR Institute of Electrified Aircraft Propulsion and the DLR Institute of Low Carbon Industrial Processes. Visitors were able to talk directly to representatives from research and development and find out about current projects.

Five years of structural change

With around 200 participants, the LAUSITZFORUM 2038, organised by the Brandenburg-Berlin Business Association and the Saxony Business Association, showed how strong the cross-state networking in the region already is.

Keynote speeches and discussion panels focussed on topics such as

  • Five years of structural change - taking stock and looking ahead
  • Net Zero Valley Lausitz - current developments and prospects
  • Sustainable economy and energy supply - opportunities for innovation and cooperation
  • Securing skilled labour and qualifications - how new jobs can be created and filled

The Lausitzforum 2038 provided the ideal platform to show how the Lausitz Science Park is actively shaping structural change in the region as a driver of innovation. In discussions, lectures and project presentations, it became clear that Lusatia is developing into a future area for research, technology and sustainable value creation.
