International young talents discuss the future of energy and environmental technology in Wroclaw

From 16 to 18 June 2025, Wrocław became a hotspot for international energy expertise: young scientists gathered for the 24th time at the International Conference on Environment and Electrical Engineering - Student Edition (EEEIC StEd).

This year, Politechnika Wrocławska invited students, researchers and industry representatives from six countries - including Germany, Poland, the Czech Republic, India, Pakistan and China. A total of 55 participants presented and discussed 23 scientific papers - 18 from Germany, 5 from Poland - on current issues in energy and environmental technology. The conference proceedings with all the papers will be published shortly.

In addition to research, the focus was also on practice: industrial partners such as the regional distribution grid operator Tauron Dystrybucja presented innovative solutions for automated grid management and protection technology. Highlights included excursions to a newly constructed 110 kV SF₆ switchgear, a modern gas and steam combined cycle power plant and the WAGO ELWAG Sp. z o.o. plant.

The conference not only offers young talents a platform for scientific publications, but also funds intercultural dialogue - especially in the German-Polish-Czech border triangle. A special anniversary is coming up next year: The 25th edition of the conference will be organised at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg - with fresh impetus, new contacts and the common goal of actively shaping the energy world of tomorrow.
