The Mission Foundation starts at the BTU

From the idea to success is the motto on Thursday, November 2, 2023 at the Startblock B2 start-up center at the main campus in Cottbus. Students and Staff Members, Graduates of the University, but in particular also Company Representatives, Investors and Start-up Interested Parties from Cottbus and the region are invited.

Two workshops starting at 3:30 p.m.

This part of the event focuses on brainstorming and creativity. There are no limits to bold perspectives and new thoughts, in German and in English. Interested parties can choose. Due to limited space, registration is required. The choices are:

  • Idea Creation (German) or
  • Introduction to "Lego Serious Play" (English)

Information, experiences and best practice from 5 p.m.

Here, people interested in founding a company can get information and inspiration. After a welcome by the mayor of Cottbus, Tobias Schick, lectures by founders will give insights into the possibilities of an own start-up and which way is suitable to get there. Pitches on innovative start-up ideas, a poetry slam, an information market and networking with like-minded people round off the "Mission Gründung" and a creative afternoon.

  • Impulse lecture by the former EXIST scholarship holder Nora Baum
  • Impulse speech "Simple 3D", founder Fabian Weihe
  • Impulse speech on the topic of company succession

5:30 p.m. Pitches of the innovative start-up ideas of the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg
Note: Prize money totaling €600 will be awarded to the first three placements. A special prize will be awarded by Gebäudewirtschaft Cottbus GWC.
