Description
Construction professions are considered crisis-proof.
There is no doubt that construction is one of the oldest activities of mankind, and it determines practically all areas of our lives: without ‘the people of construction’ there were no houses, schools, theatres ... there were no traffic routes for cars, trains, elevated and underground railways, ... no terminals and runways for aircrafts, ... there were no power stations - therefore no electricity, there were no waterworks - therefore no water, no sewage systems and no sewage treatment plants, no radio towers and transmission masts - therefore no mobile phones. Civil engineers are rightly considered existential for our civilisation - in short: civil engineers are systemically relevant! And you can be one of them.
Why Cottbus?
The civil engineering programme at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg offers you opportunities for individual profiling like no other university location. Unique in this form, you have the opportunity to choose between a 6-semester and an 8-semester Bachelor's degree within the same degree programme and thus to influence the degree of your professional qualification. The 6-semester programme together with the 4-semester Master's degree leads to a standard university degree; the 8-semester programme facilitates your direct entry into engineering practice through an additional practical and theoretical semester. And, of course, you can also study the Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering here on a dual study programme - whether on a training or practice-integrated basis in partnership with a company of your choice.
Class instead of mass!
In civil engineering at BTU, you don't run the risk of being lost as a number within a mass degree programme. Here you will be a welcome part of around 50 to 70 first-year students per year, and with a bit of luck and interest, the professors will soon know you by name. And if you would like to do more than just study, the student council will be happy to get you involved.
