Collaboration
Science-industry collaboration is crucial for driving innovation and advancing technological solutions in the energy sector. EIZ SPARK aims to intensify collaboration and technology transfer between EIZ laboratories and energy ecosystem stakeholders both in the Lausitz region and globally. This includes companies, startups, research institutions, investors, and many more. To achieve this, we work on consolidating existing partnerships and fostering new ones through various strategic measures.
SPARK TechExplorer
To ensure effective technology transfer and promote targeted collaboration, the SPARK-TechExplorer - a comprehensive technology portfolio for EIZ - will be developed. This portfolio will include EIZ's technological innovations and consider the skills and expertise of the involved researchers. It will involve ongoing scouting activities to analyze the current technological offerings regarding maturity, market potential, intellectual property rights, compatibility with existing systems, scalability, and regulatory compliance.
SPARK Match
SPARK Match constitutes one-on-one matching activities between EIZ laboratories and external partners. The SPARK Technology Transfer Manager will facilitate interactions to initiate and advance dialogue, foster new collaborations, and align technology supply with demand.
SPARK Match will also include an annual call for a science-industry challenge, inviting external parties to submit technical challenges or barriers hindering innovation or sustainable transformation. These challenges will be directed to EIZ's research laboratories to seek solutions that address the companies' issues. In parallel, we will encourage our researchers to submit their research problems and specify the required industrial or application support to solve the confronted research problem. These research-related challenges will help to establish new, problem-oriented partnerships.
SPARK Mediation
SPARK's mediation activities will primarily focus on facilitating connections between EIZ laboratories and external partners, fostering synergies and promoting a shared understanding between scientific and commercial stakeholders. The goal is to support existing partnerships and initiate new forms of collaboration.
