EIZ SPARK Inspire Kick-off

On 20 November 2024, we had our first EIZ SPARK Inpire event, a series of events designed to inspire and encourage researchers and students to become entrepreneurs and adopt a start-up mindset.

At the beginning Dr Hamdy Abdelaty and Dr Jakob Pohlisch briefly presented the services offered by EIZ SPARK in the area of start-up support. Knowledge- and science-based entrepreneurship is crucial for the implementation of a sustainable energy transition and drives innovation and practical solutions in this sector. With EIZ SPARK, we not only offer SPARK Inspire, but also our SPARK Academy and SPARK Mentoring. Afterwards, serial founder Sebastian Kiessling (founder and CEO of pyropower GmbH and ClinX Energy Systems GmbH) spoke about his experiences as a founder in the GreenTech sector. In a very open presentation, Sebastian spoke about the highs and lows, challenges and solutions, but above all about the enriching experiences of founding a company. Quote of the evening: When life gives you lemons, spark some innovations!Karo Hajduk (Founder and CEO of Growth&Glory) then spoke about the path from university to practice - from Dr to CEO, so to speak. As in science, start-ups are all about constantly testing hypotheses and having an agile mindset. Karo gave input on market identification, co-founders, the idea generation process, financing options and much more.
