Maximilian Jäger wins World Championship silver with lightweight road bike handlebars

The 24-year-old para cyclist was runner-up in the 31.5-kilometer road race at the World Championships held in Zurich from 20 to 29 September 2024.

He was equipped with a customized lightweight handlebar developed by the Polymer-based Lightweight Construction department of the Institute of Lightweight Design and Value Chain Management in collaboration with colab.

Maximilian rode in the leading group right from the start. With 100 meters to go, Denise Connors set off on the final sprint, Maximilian went with it and crossed the finish line in second place.
He was more than satisfied with his performance.

At the beginning of September, he competed at the Paralympics in Paris with our handlebars , where he achieved 4th place in the road race and 8th place in the time trial.

After an intensive season, he is now taking a well-deserved break.
We congratulate Maxi on his successful season and wish him all the best for his dual sports studies!
