SpeechyLift: Three founders, one mission - rethinking digital hearing support

With the approval of the EXIST start-up grant, Laura Camila Soto Moreno, Mir Rowshon Tabassum and Laura Schmidinger are starting the development of their innovative learning platform SpeechyLift. The aim: the targeted promotion of auditory perception in children between the ages of 3 and 7 - in a playful, personalised and AI-supported way.

A solution for an underestimated basis of language development

Speech problems in childhood are often recognised too late. One of the most important causes is often auditory perception - the ability to hear and differentiate sounds. This is precisely where SpeechyLift comes in: With the help of artificial intelligence and scientifically based methods, the digital platform supports children in developing their phonological awareness - a crucial building block for later language and writing skills.

Three founders - three areas of expertise

Laura Camila Soto Moreno (CEO) is an expert in user-centred business strategies. Born in Colombia, she has international experience from Australia, Brazil, Italy and Germany and is responsible for strategy, finance, marketing and UX at SpeechyLift.

Mir Rowshon Tabassum (CTO) from Bangladesh specialises in web technologies and AI applications. With a degree in computer science and a Master's in Artificial Intelligence (BTU), she drives the technical development, AI integration and maintenance of the platform.

Laura Schmidinger (CCO) is a speech therapist with a scientific background. With experience in practice, research and social space development, she is responsible for user research, customer support and sales.

Technology that thinks for itself - for children, parents and professionals

SpeechyLift combines two innovative AI functions:

  • Adaptive activity control: exercises adapt dynamically to learning progress. Parents are sensitised by alerts in the event of anomalies.

  • Personalised content: The app recognises children's interests and adapts exercises thematically - for example with animals, rockets or nature motifs.

The platform also offers:

  • Modules for phonetic differentiation

  • Learning analyses for parents and teachers

  • Flexible use with multiple user profiles for families and daycare centres

An EXIST-funded contribution to equal opportunities

With funding from the EXIST start-up grant, the founders will continue to develop SpeechyLift over the next twelve months - with the clear aim of closing a digital gap in the field of child-orientated hearing support. Their vision: more equal opportunities through early, effective and playful support in language development.
