As part of the event series ‘Intellectual Property Rights at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg’, this event provides a basic understanding of intellectual property protection and how to deal with patents in the field of research and development.
The focus will be on the following topics, amongst others:
- Patentability: How can an invention be identified and defined?
- Invention disclosure: What obligations do you have towards your employer?
- Patent application: What are the responsibilities of a patent attorney?
- Examination procedure: What steps are required to obtain a patent?
- Patent information research: How can patent information be used to assess markets and competitors?
The content will be illustrated with practical examples. Afterwards, there will be an opportunity to discuss any outstanding questions in a Q&A session.
