Bridge to Studies Online from German B1
Do you want to start a degree programme at BTU and currently have German language skills at level B1? Do you want to complete your preparatory programme from your home country or from another place of residence in order to use the waiting time for your visa or to save money? Do you want to be more flexible in terms of time and are you able to study independently? Then "Bridge to Studies Online from German B1" is the right programme for you!
Within one year you will acquire the necessary language skills to start your degree programme at BTU.
In the winter semester, you will complete the programme online with other international students before travelling to the BTU campus in the summer semester. Here you will prepare intensively for the digital TestDaF. Compulsory attendance begins on 12 May 2025.
In our preparatory online programme from B1 you will acquire the language skills for your degree course. You will also get to know the profile lines and the BTU community online. Exciting excursions complement the intensive language course programme during the attendance phase. You will be supported in conversation training by experienced student tutors. This will optimally prepare you for the digital TestDaF

Information on the programme
Application:
Applications for the "Bridge to Studies Online from B1" programme are only accepted for the respective winter semester. Applications for the summer semester are not possible.
You can apply for the programme via www.uni-assist.de. A separate application for the degree course is not necessary. During the application process, please indicate the study programme you would like to start after successfully completing the language preparation programme. Your application will also be checked for this degree course.
The admission of sufficiently qualified applicants will be based on the number of places available, depending on the receipt of your application.
You must submit the following documents online with your application to uni-assist:
- School and higher education documents and higher education entrance qualification (and a certified translation into German or English).
- Academic performances already achieved, previous Transcripts of Records or the certificate of your Bachelor's degree with a complete overview of grades
- Recognised proof of German language skills at level B1 (overview of language certificates recognised at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg)
- Copy of passport/ID card
- In case of transfer to another university: Exmatriculation and non-objection letter
Ein entscheidender Faktor für meine Teilnahme an der Online-Variante des Programms war die Flexibilität, das Programm von Algerien aus zu absolvieren. Besonders hilfreich fand ich den Projekt- und Sprachunterricht, die mich durch verschiedene Themen sowohl auf das tägliche Leben als auch auf das Studieren an der Universität vorbereitet haben. Die Online-Kurse, die digitalen Lernmaterialien sowie die interaktiven Sitzungen haben eine effektive und angenehme Lernerfahrung geschaffen.
Der Sprachkurs war intensiv und gut strukturiert, sodass ich schnell Fortschritte gemacht habe. Wir sind nicht nur den Lehrplan durchgegangen, sondern haben auch über Alltagsthemen gesprochen. Im Projektunterricht konnte ich mein Wissen praktisch anwenden und vertiefen. Darüber hinaus haben wir über unser Studium recherchiert. Die Vorbereitung auf den digitalen TestDaF war sehr gut organisiert und die Lehrkräfte waren sehr nett und hilfsbereit.
