BIDS at BTU – Orientation and studying
The "Support Initiative of German Schools Abroad and Partner Schools" (BetreuungsInitiative Deutscher Auslands- und PartnerSchulen) funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) supports the cooperation between BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and schools of the PASCH-initiative in Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Poland, Romania, Slovakia and Turkey.
Since 2008, BTU Cottbus – Senftenberg has been part of the BIDS project. The variety of possible activites has continually evolved. During the current project term 2025-2027, they cover:
- visits of schools, participation in fairs and online information sessions
- holders’ of motivational scholarships and outgoing-students as ambassadors
- support of the participation of PASCH students in the trial study programme and other study orientation events at BTU Cottbus – Senftenberg
- motivational scholarships for the start of studies
Get Involved - Make Friends in Your New City
Financed by: The European Social Fund, Land Brandenburg, Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg
Funding period: 01.10.2024 bis 30.09.2027
Purpose and goals: The project Get involved – make friends in your new city aims to help international students at BTU connect with the local community, clubs, and organizations. By engaging in these social activities, students will enhance their integration, build meaningful relationships, and strengthen their sense of belonging. This will not only positively impact their academic success but also support their professional integration into the regional labor market.
External Partners: In the framework of this project, the International Relations Office has established three official partnerships with Stadtsportbund Cottbus e.V., Stadt Senftenberg and Cottbuser Freiwilligenagentur.Through close collaboration, all parts are working together to create a strong support system for the integration of international students.

Peer-IR-VIEW Projekt
Since 1 September 2020, the BTU has been part of the ERASMUS+ Strategic Partnership "PEER-IR-VIEW" within the framework of ERASMUS+ Key Action 2 "Cooperation for innovation and the exchange of good practices".
The 3-year project is about a cooperation of International Offices to develop a knowledge management tool in the field of International Relations and its testing by selected peer groups.
In addition to the BTU, the seven partner universities include:
- the University of Cantabria (UC)
- the University of Catania (UNICT)
- the University of Mons (UMONS)
- the University of Vaasa (UniVaasa)
- the Poznan University of Technology (PUT) and
- Université Polytechnique Hauts-de-France, which also acts as consortium leader.
