The exchange programme named after the American Senator J. William Fulbright supports academic and cultural dialogue with the U.S.A. The Fulbright Programme is held in high esteem around the world.

The Fulbright Commission assists scholarship recipients apply for studies at professionally selected and accredited American universities. The universities are especially hospitable to Fulbright scholars, opening up new professional and personal prospects. Involvement in the international network of Fulbright scholars facilitates making contacts and friends with scholars from around the world.

Programmes for German students and graduates

Full and partial Fulbright scholarships: The programme supports one- to two-semester study visits at Master's level, which are completed full-time in person in the US.

Fulbright travel scholarship:  The programme supports exchanges at BTU partner universities in the US with a travel allowance.

Leaders in Entrepreneurship: The programme offers bachelor's students in technology and engineering a practical introduction to corporate culture in the US. It promotes direct exchange with American entrepreneurs and teaches important skills that aspiring founders need to further develop their business ideas.

Fulbright Doctorate Programme: The programme supports four- to six-month stays in the US for young German researchers who are conducting a research project at a US university or scientific institution that is directly related to their academic dissertation.
