Eight partners make "crass" Lusatia visible at property fair
On 14 and 15 May 2025, a total of 21 representatives of companies, municipalities and institutions from Spremberg, Guben, Forst (Lausitz), Drebkau and Cottbus/Chóśebuz came together in Hanover under the umbrella of the "Krasse Lausitz" campaign brand in line with the idea of cooperation. Together, they presented current topics and specific property and open space offers from Lusatia to the specialist audience at the Real Estate Arena property trade fair. The "Lausitz Science Park" project team from BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg provided information about the development of the new business and science park in the boomtown of Cottbus/Chóśebuz and about the extensive network of scientists and entrepreneurs as well as research and federal institutes in Lusatia (you can find the complete trade fair catalogue here).
On both days of the fair, the 88 m² joint stand attracted the attention of 400 other exhibitors as well as thousands of trade visitors. Numerous discussions with interested parties took place at the stand, with more than 40 members of the Federal Chamber of Architects and the Chamber of Architects of Lower Saxony alone (re)familiarising themselves with Lusatia during a short presentation at the joint stand.
The future of living and building
As the German Association of Cities was taking place at the same time and in the immediate vicinity, municipal representatives from Lusatia also took the opportunity to speak during the two-day property fair. The Mayor of Cottbus, Tobias Schick, discussed the future of housing and construction with other representatives. The consensus included the need to reduce bureaucracy and speed up procedures. Markus Niggemann, treasurer of the city of Cottbus, informed the trade fair audience about the region's endeavours to become Europe's first Net Zero Valley.
