News - Lausitz Science Park - BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg

The stage is set for ideas from Lusatia: until 31 August 2026, entrepreneurs, innovators, start-ups, start-up teams and innovative projects from the Saxon and Brandenburg parts of Lusatia can submit applications to take part in the STAR*PARADE free of charge. We are looking for creative business ideas, technological innovations and forward-looking solutions across eight categories.

The kick-off event will bring together key stakeholders from 27 to 29 April.

From 20 to 24 April 2026, we will be presenting innovative research projects, start-ups and energy solutions from Lusatia. Visit us in Hall 12 at the joint WFBB stand and discover how one of the most exciting structural change regions in Germany is rethinking industry.

The Lausitz Science Park was represented at the final event of the "Trafo*NOVA" project in Görlitz on 25 February 2026.

A plot of around 17,500 m² in the future science and technology park is being sold. We are looking for innovative, sustainable and socially orientated development ideas in the area surrounding the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg. Project developers, investors and builders are thus given the opportunity to actively participate in the design of a new neighbourhood.

Since 1 February, bus route 47 has provided a regular, hourly service that reliably connects the LSP with central points in Cottbus, including the main railway station and the main campus of BTU Cottbus.

On 23 January, Cottbus city councillors visited the Adlershof Technology Park together with the team from the BTU-project "Lausitz Science Park". They gained valuable experience from over 30 years of successful Location Development - and important impulses for the development of a strong science and innovation location in Lusatia.

Cottbus could become the European centre of excellence for the Canadian high-tech company Genoptic. The company, which has a portfolio of 151 patents worldwide, wants to build a state-of-the-art centre of excellence in the Lausitz Science Park.

Lausitz Science Park is part of a delegation from Germany visiting innovation centres in Chicago and Denver.
