Behind the Scenes: Filming for the ‘Virtual Lusatia’ project

The Lausitz Science Park is set to become part of the “Virtual Lausitz” project. Filming took place at the end of June to create the footage that will be used to present this forward-looking location virtually and showcase it to investors both nationally and internationally.

At the end of June, filming for the “Virtual Lusatia” project took place at the Lusatia Science Park and on the main campus of BTU Cottbus–Senftenberg. Appearing on camera were Jana Kostbar from the Economic Development Agency Brandenburg (WFBB), Andreas Schwerin from the Economic Development Agency Saxony, and BTU President Gesine Grande.

Experience Lusatia virtually

Through this project, the Lausitz Investor Centre, together with its partners, is developing a virtual presence for selected locations across Lusatia. Using 360° imagery, interactive information and personal testimonials, these locations can be explored through the Lusatia model, online and via VR headsets. This allows them to be presented realistically at trade fairs, delegation visits and investor meetings, regardless of location. The aim is to showcase Lusatia's strengths as a hub for business, science and innovation and to attract national and international investors to the region.

As one of Lusatia’s most significant future-oriented locations, the Lausitz Science Park will also become part of this virtual presentation. With its unique combination of science, research, innovation and industry, the site exemplifies the region’s ongoing structural transformation and will showcase Lusatia’s innovation potential in the virtual world.
