WISTA.Plan visits the Lausitz Science Park
WISTA.Plan GmbH visited Cottbus on 1 September. Together with the City of Cottbus/Chóśebuz, the Berlin-based company had organised a full-day excursion to learn about current urban development projects in the city.
One stop on the tour took the group to the Lausitz Science Park site. At INIK – the Institute for New Industrial Culture – the guests learnt about the plans for the future science and technology hub.
The work of theDLR Institute for Electrified Aviation Propulsion was also presented; this institute is conducting research in Cottbus into new technologies for more climate-friendly air transport.
The exchange with WISTA.Plan is of particular interest for the development of the site: as the urban development agency for the State of Berlin, the company is responsible, amongst other things, for the further development of the Berlin-Adlershof science and technology hub. The Adlershof Technology Park is regarded as an important model for the Lausitz Science Park.
This link is now also institutionally established: the Lausitz Science Park is a joint project between the City of Cottbus/Chóśebuz, BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg and WISTA Management GmbH, which manages the Adlershof Technology Park.
The visit provided an opportunity to discuss the plans for the Lausitz Science Park directly on site, whilst also gaining an insight into the research activities taking place on the site.
