Requirements for the Company / Organisation
LEONARDO office Brandenburg is cooperating with many companies and institutions, Europe-wide, which are fulfilling the following criteria required to receive our interns.
- you are a small or middle sized enterprise in a country of the European Union or Iceland, Liechtenstein, Norway or Turkey
- beside small and middle sized enterprises also welfare services, non-profit organisations, NGOs, large scale enterprises, academia as well as other institutions can come in consideration. Please don not hesitate to ask us, in case you are unsure whether your company's or organisation's profile meets the criteria required for the programme.
- Excluded from that programme are institutes and organisations administering programmes of the EU, as well as national diplomatic agencies ( e.g. embassies, consulates and national institutes) of the home country of the applicant in the host country. The trans-national character of such an internship should be retained always.
Requirements for the internship
An intership in terms of the LLP programme of the European Union should meet the following criteria:
- The internship abroad should take at least 3 months and can be up to 12 months for students. For graduates it should have a duration of 2-6 months.
- The area of work or the projects the intern will take part in, should be in close context with the study courses of the home university of the students. Internships outside of the subject area are not applicable for a LEONARDO placement.
- The internship has to be done as a full-time job (min. 35 hours per week)
- As the hosting company or organisation you should provide financial benefit for the intern, normally, as, after a short training period and because of his or her studies, they are like a usual employee. Such benefits can by provided as a salary and or non-cash benefits. (free accommodation, transport fees, food vouchers)
- double funding by the European Union is not allowed, i.e. interns of the LLP-Programme are not to be placed in projects also funded by the EU.
