Service of the LEONARDO-office Brandenburg

As regional project office of the LLP-Programme we place you with highly motivated and qualified students and graduates in professionally challenging internships everywhere in the European Union.

Extensive mentoring while organising, realisation and reviewing the time abroad as well support by granting various scholarships and other financial supports are accomplished by the LEONARDO-office Brandenburg, which are adding to the success of the professional contacts between all the various enterprises and organisations and young European academics.

Selecting the scholarship holders is a two-level process – In a first step the professional and social qualifications of the applicants as well as their motivations for a LLP placement are surveyed by the LEONARDO-office Brandenburg. Persuasive candidates are then given addresses from companies and institutions with which we already have placed interns and whose profile matches the professional background and goals of the prospective intern. That way our LLP interns are challenged to get into contact with your company or organisation themselves and also negotiate general conditions of an internship (i.e. vacancies, durations, job titles, field of operation, etc.). Challenging ones own initiative is a first test for the later work life of our applicants.

Once a possible placement has been found, the applicant enters the second level of our selection process. Here the LEONARDO-office Brandenburg will match the field of operation of your company or organisation as well as the quality of the prospective occupation against the criteria for LEONARDO- or ERASMUS-placements and also whether the internship is acceptable by the applicants University. Successful applicants will be granted with an LLP-sponsorship as an addition to their living expenses abroad. The financial grant can be up to 400 Euro per month at a maximum duration of that grant of 12 months. Graduates will get in dependence to their living expenses abroad between 500 and 1.000 Euro per month for up to six months.

The agreed conditions of a placement between the intern, his or her university, you as the provider of the internship and the LEONARDO-office Brandenburg will then be recorded in an ERASMUS or LEONARDO placement contract and signed by all parties.

In addition to the already illustrated activities of the LEONARDO-office Brandenburg we also offer further mentoring and support to students and graduates in form of a cultural assessment centre, the LEONARDO-Forum, advice for house-hunting, exchange of experience, information about possible host countries, etc. We try to assure a smooth entry and progress of the internship that way. Continuous supervision and contact to advisors and interns helps to avoid possible problems at an early stage.
