Utopia Cultural Education: Art, Media and Culture in the Transformation Region of Lusatia - Conference and Training Offer

"Utopia Cultural Education" asks about the potential of aesthetic and utopian practice in transformation processes in Lusatia: How can cultural education, art and culture support bottom-up processes in the transformation region? What role do utopias from the arts, digital pioneers and cultural education events with art and media play here?

The conference and training "Utopia Cultural Education" asks about the potential of aesthetic and utopian practice in transformation processes in Lusatia. In the face of urgent crises, ideas for alternatives and methods are needed to accompany the upcoming change.

Cultural education promotes co-creation and participation through pedagogical offers and self-education with creative and artistic media. How can cultural education, art and culture support bottom-up processes in the transformation region? What role do utopias from the arts, digital pioneers and cultural education events with art and media play here?

At the conference on June 22, keynote speeches, panel discussions and a networking program will focus on "alternative futures" from art, culture, media and cultural education in the structural transformation of Lusatia. A film program with discussion in the evening will focus on "Utopia on film: the changing Lusatia - looking back and forward".

At the training day on June 23, 2023, workshops will be offered on biographical theater work, digital music projects, writing workshops, blueprinting, photo stories, and collective mapping in urban space. In the workshops, multipliers from social work, schools, art and culture can try out different approaches to cultural education that support individual and social transformation processes. The workshops are also recognized by the MBJS for teacher training.
