In 2025, it's time again to get on your bike and collect kilometres! The city of Cottbus is once again taking part in the Germany-wide "City Cycling" competition, and BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg is of course once again taking part. Under the leadership of Prof. Peer Schmidt (Vice-President for Academic Affairs), all BTU locations are pedalling together to set an example for sustainable mobility.

From 1 to 21 May 2025, all kilometres travelled will count - whether on the way to university, to work or in your free time, whether in Cottbus or elsewhere. Every metre brings us closer to our goal: actively funding climate-friendly mobility.

Last year, we were one of the largest teams with 212 cyclists and ended up in third place in the "most active cycling team" category with 39,356 kilometres. Can we do even more in 2025? Let's find out together!

All further information can be found on the City Cycling Cottbus website.

Now it's time to get pedalling - for health, the environment and team spirit!

Your opinion counts! Since 2020, the "AG Fahrradfreundliche BTU" has been campaigning for better conditions for cyclists on campus. Do you have any ideas or suggestions for improvement? Write to us at bike-friendly(at)b-tu.de.
