Succession is female - in science, politics and business

On the occasion of the nationwide day of action "Company Succession" on June 21, 2023, women will be the focus at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg: students and schoolgirls in particular are invited to learn interesting facts about working and networking in male-dominated professions.

Whether scientist, entrepreneur or politician, the path to leadership positions is often not easy for women. Those who have achieved their professional goal will provide brief insights into their careers and offer forward-looking perspectives for women as part of the Nachfolge ist weiblich (Succession is female) action day on Wednesday, June 21, 2023, starting at 11 am.

In the STARTBLOCK B2 start-up center, the interested public will be welcomed at 11:00 a.m. with a digital greeting from the Federal Minister for Families, Senior Citizens, Women and Youth, Lisa Paus. After the keynote speech on the topic of "Company succession by women in the skilled trades" by the President of the Cottbus Chamber of Skilled Trades, Corina Reifenstein, many inspiring women from business, the skilled trades, politics and society will have their say. They will report on opportunities, hurdles and challenges for women in their professional careers. The program will be framed by a poetry slam by students from the Glad House literary workshop and interesting facts about women in male-dominated professions.

The topic of business succession is addressed in studies and teaching at BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg in seminars and theses. Experiences and practical examples and networks offer students the chance to apply early on in a company as an innovation specialist with a later option for succession in a management position. The goal is to recognize company succession as a career path and to offer companies the opportunity to get to know young personalities for succession needs.
