The BTU invites you to the anniversary celebration in Senftenberg

"10 years - We want to know." This is the motto of the celebration on Saturday, July 8, 2023, from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. on the Campus Senftenberg of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg (BTU). All interested parties are welcome with free admission.

The Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg, which emerged from the BTU Cottbus and the Lausitz University of Applied Sciences, will be ten years old on July 1, 2023, and its professors, Staff Members and students have every reason to look ahead with confidence. After the official ceremony and the events at the main campus Cottbus, this anniversary will now be celebrated in Senftenberg - with partners from many areas, citizens, alumni, families with children, senior citizens and everyone who wants to join in the celebration.

At 11:35 a.m., BTU President Prof. Dr. Gesine Grande, Senftenberg's mayor Andreas Pfeiffer and the district administrator of the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district Siegurd Heinze will welcome the guests on the stage provided by the city of Senftenberg.

Scientific and artistic
Participants can look forward to open doors to laboratories, studios and lecture theatres, interesting lectures, hands-on science and a colorful program that will get all generations excited about science, research and progress and also include music, dance, sports and culinary delights.

From 11a.m.to 5p.m., there will be exciting insights into research and teaching, experiments and hands-on activities with cultural, sporting and culinary highlights for young and old.
The varied stage program will be presented by Daniel Friedrich from Antenne Brandenburg. This includes, among other things, musical and dance performances by students, performances by the Senftenberg shanty choir "Die Seebären" as well as by Peter Apelt and Nicole, popular music by Johannes Schöne, a fashion show and a science and poetry slam. Attractive prizes await the winners of the Campus Rally, for example, a tablet and Senftenberg vouchers.

Behind the scenes
Guided tours of the campus, the chemical laboratories and the Efficient Factory Center, a physical-chemical experiment show, hands-on Electrical Engineering, a journey into the world of microorganisms or a smoothie bike ride are just some of the many highlights. They also include an alcohol goggles course, a medical technology safari, a digital anatomy quiz, the teaching of "midwifery knowledge for all", suggestions for DIY home remedies and the vehicle presentation of the student team Lausitz Dynamics.

Partners on the spot
Announced themselves among other things the theater new stage Senftenberg with a play plan quiz, the WIR! alliance country innovation Lausitz, the Lausitzer Biotch registered association. The well-known Spreewaldwirt Peter Franke informs about health you can taste. In the area of the library there is a special children's program with a handicraft street and a bouncy castle and the possibility to try out musical instruments that one might want to learn, a book market as well as a photo exhibition with impressions of Lake Senftenberg.

Sports and culinary
The sports festival takes up a lot of space. For example, there will be hands-on stations for young and old, beach volleyball, rock 'n' roll and line dancing, a presentation of Senftenberg sports clubs and the youth cycling team from Großkoschen. The Culinary Mile in the market huts provided by the city of Senftenberg offers tasty treats for the palate, from shiitake mushrooms to waffles and artisan roasted coffee from Senftenberg. The Friedrich-Engels-Gymnasium and the Techniker Krankenkasse will also be making presentations. And of course there will be comprehensive information about the future-oriented study programs offered by the BTU Cottbus-Senftenberg.

Thenfrom 17 to 19 o'clock the appearance of the Senftenberger volume DIVA forms the conclusion of the anniversary celebration for the ten-year existence of the BTU Cottbus Senftenberg.

The Campus Senftenberg of the Brandenburg University of Technology Cottbus-Senftenberg is increasingly home to new health-related study programmes in addition to natural sciences and engineering.
In the winter semester of 2023/24, the study programme for primary school teachers will start here. Interested students have until July 15 to apply.
