BTU opens its doors on Study Info Day in Senftenberg
BTU is opening its doors on Study Info Day in parallel to the Saxon University Information Day. High school graduates from Saxony who would like to take advantage of this school-free day to visit BTU are just as welcome as prospective students from Brandenburg and other federal states, parents and educators.
The varied programme with introductory and advisory services includes basic information about studying at all university locations, including the co-op programmes. Presentations of degree programmes and experiments in modern laboratories provide in-depth insights into the subjects offered at Campus Senftenberg and the best study conditions.
The central point of contact is the Konrad Zuse Media Centre (Building 11), where the event will kick off with a lecture entitled "Studying at BTU" from 10 a.m. to 10:45 a.m. in the large lecture theatre with information on all of the university's Bachelor's degree programmes, applications, studying abroad and more. In the foyer, Staff Members from the student guidance and counselling service, the co-op programme and other institutions will be available at information stands for individual discussions. The Primary School Teacher Training study programme will be presenting itself with information on studies and internships. Exhibits from various areas of study and research will be on display under the motto "hands-on science".
The following study programmes will bepresented in detail in various teaching buildings at: Teaching Degree for Primary Education, Natural and Applied Sciences, MeMedical Engineering, Nursing Science, Midwifery Science, Physiotherapy as well as Biotechnology and Life Science & International Health. The presentation "Studying worldwide" provides information about studying and internships abroad.
Visitors to the Study Info Day can get hands-on, for example in the medical technology workshop "Orthoses from the 3D printer" and in the microbiology internship.
The intoxication goggles course offers a sober experience of what it feels like when the body is under the influence of an increased amount of alcohol, and the human anatomy is examined more closely under the heading "Virtual Body Worlds".
A lecture and laboratory tour will provide information on material development for 3D bioprinting. The programme also shows how polymers are used in medicine and includes the topic of aroma care with the professional use of essential oils. An experiment will show which water is the best for health,
Other exciting items on the programme focus on paths into physiotherapy and the question of "training or studying?", and highlight various facets of teacher training, such as the promotion of young learners through theatre and children's literature in early English lessons and interactive learning projectsunderthe heading "Campus German". Prospective students will gain insights into the world of Singing and a university seminar onmaths difficultiesat primary school level.

The Study Info Day is aimed in particular at anyone who would like to find out more about the possibility of studying for a Bachelor's degree, which usually starts in the winter semester 2026/27.
Applications for the summer semester 2026 have already started.Applications are primarily possible for Master's degree programmes and the Bachelor's degree programme in Economathematics in the first programme-related semester - for other Bachelor's degree programmes in higher programme-related semesters.
